The Gateway Gators were the 63-59 winner over the Drew Dragons when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Gateway fell 56-45 to the Dragons on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Gateway has lost by exactly 11 points.
Drew found their leader in underclassman Kian Chan, who scored 29 points. Chan continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Teo Kimball-Directo, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Gateway dropped their record down to 8-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Drew, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Gateway is on the road again on Friday and plays the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Drew, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jewish Community has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
