On Thursday, Sanger West came up short against Hoover and fell 3-1. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-21, 16-25, 25-13.

Sanger West's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Payton Phimmachack, who had eight digs and three aces, and Kianna Charfauros, who had 11 digs and one assist. Charfauros has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Mammoth waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Scorpions.
The final score came out to 25-19, 25-6, 25-13.
Sanger West better keep an eye on Aspen Wight. She was instrumental in Mammoth's win, getting eight digs and six aces. That's the most aces Wight has posted since back in September.
Mammoth was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 14 consecutive matches.
Sanger West's defeat dropped their record down to 20-18. As for Mammoth, their victory bumped their record up to 31-4-1.
