Newton County Academy extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 7-1. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Sylva Bay Academy Saints 52-22. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 22 points or more this season.
As for Sylva Bay Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. Surprisingly, this marked their fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Odom, who rushed for 41 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 81 yards and one touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes. Cody Kittrell was another key player, rushing for 112 yards on only six carries.
