The Live Oak Acorns will challenge the Silver Creek Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Live Oak's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Del Mar as Live Oak made off with a 14-0 win. While the Acorns didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Julianna Altamirano was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Olivia Mixco was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kayla Tulowitzki, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Live Oak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Mar only posted an OBP of .062.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek came into Monday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past San Jose 18-6 on Monday.
Jessenia Garcia was incredible, going 4-for-5 with seven RBI, two triples, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Tang, who scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
The victory made it two in a row for Live Oak and bumps their season record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Silver Creek, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Live Oak hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .424. However, it's not like Silver Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .399. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Live Oak's way against Silver Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Live Oak made off with an 11-0 victory. Will Live Oak repeat their success, or does Silver Creek has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
