Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2025-26 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Caroline Bradley of
Oak Grove is the 2025-26 MaxPreps Louisiana High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year. The 6-foot-5 junior center led the Tigers to a 28-4 record and the Division III Non-Select semifinals.
For the season, Bradley averaged 27.1 points, 17.6 rebounds, 3.5 blocked shots and 2.5 steals per game while shooing 62 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free throw line.
In a 46-45 loss to Westlake in the state semifinals, Bradley piled up 29 points and 20 rebounds while battling foul trouble in the second half.
Through three seasons at Oak Grove, Bradley has scored 2,433 points and grabbed 1,690 rebounds.
Regarded as a top 10 prospect nationally in the Class of 2027, Bradley has offers from college basketball powers Duke, LSU, Notre Dame, South Carolina and UCLA among others. Last summer, she won a gold medal representing the United States in the FIBA U16 AmeriCup in Mexico, averaging 7.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released in April. Past selections include 2025 WNBA Most Valuable Player A'ja Wilson (2014) along with 2025 All-WNBA selections Aliyah Boston (2017, 2018, 2019), Paige Bueckers (2018, 2019), Napheesa Collier (2015), Sabrina Ionescu (2015, 2016), Kelsey Mitchell (2014), Nneka Ogwumike (2008), Alyssa Thomas (2010) and Jackie Young (2014, 2015).
