The Littleton Lions lost against the Durango Demons back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Littleton fell just short of Durango by a score of 46-44. While losing is never fun, Littleton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Durango is ranked 106th).
Littleton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Charles Craver, who scored 17 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Craver scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Sam Lasswell, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Littleton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Littleton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Durango, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Littleton will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Highlands Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Highlands Ranch knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Littleton likes a good challenge. As for Durango, they will be playing at home against Shiprock at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shiprock is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
