The New Community School Sabers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 51-27 defeat at the hands of Guardian Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points The New Community School has scored all season.
Guardian Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Kuhn, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Kuhn is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tierre Brown, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
The New Community School dropped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Guardian Christian Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.
The New Community School will head out on the road to face off against the Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Stuart Hall presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Sabers in Virginia (the Dragons are ranked 136th, while the Sabers are ranked 444th). As for Guardian Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Banner Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 15 contests.
