The George Walton Academy Bulldogs will face off against the Stratford Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. George Walton Academy has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

George Walton Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mac Maughon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Maughon is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Stratford Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Brentwood on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the War Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Jaxen Justice made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jett Johnston, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colton Whittington, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
The win got Stratford Academy back to even at 2-2. As for George Walton Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
George Walton Academy took their victory against Stratford Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 11-3. Will George Walton Academy repeat their success, or does Stratford Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
