The Wilmington Wildcats were the 59-56 winner over the Manteno Panthers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Wilmington lost to Manteno on the road by a decisive 45-29 margin on Tuesday. Wilmington has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joey Cortese, who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Rink, who scored 9 points.
Wilmington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Manteno, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Wilmington will be playing in front of their home fans against Herscher at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Manteno, they will head out on the road to face off against Reed-Custer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
