The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hoopa Valley in their matchups with Del Norte: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Hoopa Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tristan Billings. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Anzora, who scored 12 points.
Hoopa Valley now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Del Norte, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Hoopa Valley will head out on the road to face off against St. Bernard's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Bernard's presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hoopa Valley in California (St. Bernard's is ranked 260th, while Hoopa Valley is ranked 960th). As for Del Norte, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Fortuna at 7:30 p.m. Fortuna is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
