Softball Recap: Pullman Wins Going Away Against Rogers

Pullman's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rogers Pirates with a sharp 20-10 win. Considering the Greyhounds have won ten contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ady Sanford made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, Isabelle Dahmen and Charise Kapofu did most of the damage at the plate: Dahmen went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Kapofu went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most runs Dahmen has posted since back in April. Sophie Collins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Pullman's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. As for Rogers, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pullman is set to take on their familiar foe East Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rogers will face off against rival North Central at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
