The Alpaugh Buffalos will head out on the road to square off against the Wonderful College Prep Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alpaugh will be strutting in after a victory while Wonderful College Prep Academy will be coming in after a loss.
Wonderful College Prep Academy will be up against a hot Alpaugh squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Buffalos walked away with a 3-1 win over Riverdale Christian on Tuesday.
Alpaugh had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.
Among those leading the charge was Angela Aguilar, who had five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.
Aguilar wasn't the only good servers: Alpaugh was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, the Lions suffered their biggest defeat since September 2nd on Monday. They came up short against the Wolves, falling 3-0. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-11.
Alpaugh picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for the Lions, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
Alpaugh was able to grind out a solid win over Wonderful College Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffalos since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
