The Grimsley Whirlies lost against the Dudley Panthers back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Grimsley was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Dudley. Grimsley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Grimsley saw an underclassman step up: Alyssa Graves dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Graves has scored all season. Briasiah Lee was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Grimsley bumped their record down to 1-2 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Dudley, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grimsley will face off against Southern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dudley's road trip will continue as they head out to face T.W. Andrews at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th.
