The Oak Ridge Trojans will take on the Davis Sr. Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Oak Ridge walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 6-1 margin over the Trojans. That looming 6-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Oak Ridge yet this season.
They hit Lincoln with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Nicole Uribe (2),
Elhom Khursand (2),
Kyra Long, and
Samantha Liaty.
Meanwhile, Davis Sr. kept a clean sheet against Central Valley on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks and snuck past 1-0. Given Davis Sr.'s advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Central Valley is ranked 347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Oak Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2-4 record this season. As for Davis Sr., the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1-3.
Oak Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Davis Sr. when the teams last played back in February of 2022, winning 2-0. Will Oak Ridge repeat their success, or does Davis Sr. have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
