Basketball Recap: Springfield Piles Up the Points Against Mountain Lake/Comfrey/Mountain Lake Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springfield). They blew past Mountain Lake/Comfrey/Mountain Lake Christian 100-51 on Friday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Springfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Fredin out in front who went 7 of 10 on his way to 19 points in addition to five assists and three steals. That's the most points Fredin has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Buerkle, who went 10 for 14 on his way to 21 points.

Springfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Mountain Lake/Comfrey/Mountain Lake Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Springfield will take on Red Rock Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Lake/Comfrey/Mountain Lake Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
