This week's postseason excitement didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Union's 35 - 28 win over Puyallup last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Lincoln Victor. Victor threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns. That performance made Victor one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
A
The battle between Clackamas (ranked 4th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Sheldon (ranked 2nd) turned out to be a somewhat underwhelming competition. Clackamas was crushed by Sheldon 35 - 14. As a result, Clackamas fell two positions in the power rankings.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another outing, another win last week for the team with the longest stretch of success (14 consecutive games). Rainier took its game against Cascade Christian by a confident 44 - 14 score. The win boosted Rainier a satisfying ten spots in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Lake Oswego (1st in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Sheldon (2nd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
