Norwich Free Academy got themselves on the board against Woodstock Academy on Saturday, but Woodstock Academy never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Centaurs with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Bourdon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Norwich Free Academy got a big performance out of Autumn Romains, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Romains a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophie Miner, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Norwich Free Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodstock Academy only posted a batting average of .062.

Norwich Free Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Woodstock Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-1 record this season.

Norwich Free Academy will be playing at home against Amity Regional at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.1, the Spartans 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Woodstock Academy, they will challenge St. Bernard at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
