Coachella Valley has gone a perfect 6-0 against Banning recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mighty Arabs will head out on the road to square off against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Banning will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Coachella Valley extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Mighty Arabs blew past Indio 37-7.
Ivan Camargo had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 163 yards and three scores on only five carries, while also picking up 71 receiving yards and one TD. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 90 yards. Xzavier Hernandez was another key player, throwing for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Coachella Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Coachella Valley's defense and their nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Carlos Verduzco and Julian Rodriguez, who racked up 6.5 sacks between them. Verduzco also made nine total tackles, which is notable because Coachella Valley is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 3-4 otherwise. Israel Inzunza was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing three fumbles, and making four total tackles.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Banning against Desert Mirage on Friday as the squad secured a 50-22 win.
Coachella Valley better keep an eye on JACOB ANZALDUA. He was instrumental in Banning's win, throwing for 259 yards and four TDs. 88 of those passing yards were hauled in by JMARI GARLINGTON, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Banning's record is now 8-2. As for Coachella Valley, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Coachella Valley has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 220.7 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Banning, though, as they've been averaging only 88.6 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Coachella Valley against Banning when the teams last played back in September of 2023, as the team secured a 52-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mighty Arabs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
