Basketball Recap: Jeremy Daniels Jr.'s Big Game Can't Quite Lead Stivers School for the Arts over Columbus Academy

Stivers School for the Arts lost against Columbus Academy back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Stivers School for the Arts Tigers lost 66-44 to the Columbus Academy Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while the Vikings are ranked 48th).

Stivers School for the Arts' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremy Daniels Jr., who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points. Daniels Jr. is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shaun Burgan, who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points.

Stivers School for the Arts now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Columbus Academy, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Stivers School for the Arts didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-47 defeat against Taft on the 3rd. As for Columbus Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-42 win against Buckeye Valley on the 3rd.
