The Lincoln Trojans will take on the Beachside Barracudas at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Lincoln is ranked 79th, while Beachside is ranked 60th).
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lincoln walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hurricanes on Friday and snuck past 51-49.
Lincoln got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamiya Brown out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamesia Smith, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Beachside came up short against Ponte Vedra on Friday and fell 52-45.
Despite the loss, Beachside saw an underclassman step up: Madilyn (Madi) Ray dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ray hasn't dropped below two blocks for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Kendall Kane, who scored seven points.
Lincoln has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Beachside, their loss dropped their record down to 20-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Lincoln hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.7 points per game. However, it's not like Beachside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.8 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
