Veritas Academy not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Concordia with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Veritas Academy in their matchups with Concordia: they've now won four in a row.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Veritas Academy took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-8.
Veritas Academy can attribute much of their success to Julia Rhodes, who had seven digs and two aces, and Avery Roberts, who had seven digs and six aces. What's more, Roberts posted two kills, the most she's had since back in September.
They weren't the only good servers: Veritas Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive contests.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Round Rock Christian Academy and Brazos Christian, and Brazos Christian kept the tradition alive. The Crusaders lost 3-0 to the Eagles on Tuesday.
The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-18.
Veritas Academy's record now sits at 10-20. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 27-13.
Veritas Academy came up short against Round Rock Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in September, falling 3-1. Can Veritas Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
