The Owen Warhorses lost against the Draughn Wildcats back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Owen took a serious blow against Draughn, falling 93-44. Owen has not had much luck with Draughn recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Owen saw an underclassman step up: Mia Roland scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Martin, who scored 11 points.
Owen dropped their record down to 3-14 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Draughn, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owen on the road again on Friday and play against Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Draughn, they will take on Avery County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Avery County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
