They put the hurt on Arendell Parrott Academy with a sharp 46-24 win on Friday. 46 seems to be a good number for Faith Christian as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Caden Hamlett was his usual excellent self, throwing for 269 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 passes, while also rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown. Thomas Sugg also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Wayne Christian entered their tilt with Lawrence Academy/Albemarle School with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Wayne Christian took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-26 victory over Lawrence Academy/Albemarle School. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-14.
Shiquan Ethridge was a one-man wrecking crew for Wayne Christian as he rushed for 239 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards. Ethridge really tore up the turf during one magnificent 86-yard run. Oliver Thomas was another major influence, as he rushed for 79 yards and ran in a TD.
Faith Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Wayne Christian, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Faith Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 170.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wayne Christian struggles in that department as they've been even better at 255.5 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
