Volleyball Recap: Windsor Charter Academy Takes Down the Academy in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Windsor Charter Academy had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against The Academy Wildcats by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Firebirds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Windsor Charter Academy was led to victory by Emma George and Katie Ward. George had nine digs and two aces, while Ward had seven digs and one assist. That's the most aces George has posted since back in October.

They weren't the only good servers: Windsor Charter Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Academy only served eight.

The Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Megan Duchlinski, who had 13 digs and two aces, and Olivia Deleon, who had eight kills and seven digs. Ava Gallegos also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Windsor Charter Academy's record now sits at 16-8. As for The Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16.

Windsor Charter Academy has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Gunnison on the 8th. The Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
