The St. Maries Lumberjacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Troy. St. Maries has not had much luck with Troy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Lumberjacks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brenna Elliott, who scored 26 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Elliott has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Raevyn Yearout, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
St. Maries bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Troy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
St. Maries will be playing at home against Priest River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Troy, they will head out on the road to challenge Genesee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Genesee is ranked 70th, while Troy is ranked 79th).
