Mt. Vernon and Delta go head to head this Friday at 7:30 PM. Delta will be looking to take advantage of a struggling Mt. Vernon defense that has allowed an average of 31.75 points per game.
Mt. Vernon had a rough outing against New Palestine last week, losing 47 - 3. Freshman Rylan Cole didn't go down without a fight, though. He put up some defensive resistance with 12 tackles. Cole has been the ringleader for Mt. Vernon this season three times now.
As for Delta, it took its contest against Yorktown last week by a conclusive 42 - 12 score. Sophomore Charlie Spegal was especially active in the win, finding the endzone an impressive six times. This marked the 4th consecutive game in which Spegal had 100+ rushing yards.
Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped it to 1-3 while Delta's win brought it to 3-1. We'll see if Delta can snag another victory or if Mt. Vernon will turn things around for itself.
