The Normal West Wildcats were the 60-58 winner over the Peoria Lions when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Normal West lost to Peoria on the road by a decisive 69-50 margin on Friday. Normal West has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Normal West lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaiah Robinson, who scored eight points along with two steals. Robinson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Nate Moore, who scored 11 points.
Normal West's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-15. As for Peoria, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Normal West won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pontiac at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Pontiac is ranked 209th, while Normal West is ranked 217th). As for Peoria, they will be playing at home against Richwoods at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richwoods and Peoria are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
