Clinton Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Fountain Central Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Clinton Central has not done well against the Blackhawks recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. Clinton Central walked away with a 51-42 win over the Blackhawks.
Clinton Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Erika Robbins, who scored 17 points. Robbins hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Sara Parkison was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fountain Central walked away with it. They skirted past the Eagles 49-46. 49 seems to be a good number for Fountain Central as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Clinton Central's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1. As for Fountain Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Clinton Central took their victory against the Mustangs in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 60-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clinton Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
