Lanesville is 9-1 against the Lions since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lanesville Eagles' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Rock Creek Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lanesville had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 56-26 victory over Christian Academy on the road. Lanesville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Lanesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Kerr led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Kerr hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Hadley Crosier, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, everything went Rock Creek Academy's way against the Rebels on Thursday as the Lions made off with a 72-51 victory.
Lanesville's victory bumped their record up to 23-1. As for Rock Creek Academy, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Lanesville beat the Lions 61-50 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Rock Creek Academy's Kelis Dansby, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
