Reese Sobol ran for two touchdowns and
Collin Grogan added two as well as
Morris (Ill.) beat Rich East (Park Forest, Ill.) 44-0 on Saturday.
The Redskins were up 38-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Jeff Perry in the first quarter.
Morris expanded its lead to 44 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored once in the quarter on a Perry touchdown run.
A 24-point first quarter helped the Redskins secure the big victory. Morris rushed for three touchdowns on the ground during the quarter, including two by Sobol.
Perry stood out for MHS in the win. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
The Redskins went into the matchup giving up only 13.7 points per game.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Morris, which was coming off a 33-30 defeat at the hands of Kaneland in its previous game.
