Blue River Valley came out on top against Randolph Southern on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run seventh inning. The Vikings put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 14-2 victory. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Rylan Kraus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Taeon Tate and Tyson Tremain made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Tate didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over 5.1 innings pitched. The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Blue River Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Seton Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Blue River Valley got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Seton Catholic by a conclusive 13-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
