The Fresno Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Yosemite by a score of 37-34. The match was a 16-16 toss-up at halftime, but Fresno Christian was outscored by Yosemite in the second.
Fresno Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Anna Pascual, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Sarah Guglielmana who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pascual has scored all season.
Jadyn Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Yosemite, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Johnson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Taylor Bullock was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Fresno Christian bumped their record down to 6-16 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Yosemite, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.
Fresno Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chowchilla at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Chowchilla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Yosemite, they will head out on the road to challenge Fowler at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
