Even though the Braxton County Eagles scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, the Ritchie County Rebels still came out on top. Ritchie County walked away with a 68-58 victory over Braxton County. That's another feather in the cap for Ritchie County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Isaac Hodges had a dynamite game for Ritchie County, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Hodges has scored at least 25% of Ritchie County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bodhi Utter, who scored 11 points.
Ritchie County's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Braxton County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ritchie County will take on St. Marys at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Braxton County, they will be playing at home against Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
