After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marksville, Ville Platte was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Northwest Raiders with a sharp 22-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four matches by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Laila Lewis was a standout: she scored three runs and stole six bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Janaih Leday was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

With the win, Ville Platte broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for Northwest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Ville Platte will face off against Rapides at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwest, they will square off against Church Point at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
