The Brentwood War Eagles came tearing into Tuesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Augusta Prep Day with a 54-49 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Brentwood also won the last time the pair played last Saturday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brentwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zyion Andrews, who scored 18 points. Khaden Walker was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Brentwood pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Augusta Prep Day, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brentwood will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Thomas Jefferson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Augusta Prep Day, they will square off against Gatewood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gatewood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Augusta Prep Day likes a good challenge.
