Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Wenonah

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Wenonah ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with an 86-77 win over the Woodlawn Colonels. The Dragons' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Wenonah got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brendon Davis out in front who went 13-for-22 on his way to 36 points and seven rebounds. The matchup was Davis' fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Demazzia Taylor, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards.

Wenonah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Wenonah's record now sits at 5-0. As for Woodlawn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Wenonah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-46 victory against Parker on the 22nd. As for Woodlawn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-70 win against Hayden on the 24th.
