The Chaparral Wolverines will take on the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Chaparral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Chaparral and Highlands Ranch had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wolverines walked away with an 8-4 win over the Falcons on Monday.

Kayne Morris tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Carson Munroe was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Humphrey, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Chaparral kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Mountain Vista waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sabercats an 8-0 shutout.
Mountain Vista gave Sawyer Tipton the start and clearly made the right call: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Tipton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mountain Vista let Jace Brockett and Miles Vosburg run wild. Brockett got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Vosburg went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Mountain Vista is undefeated when Brockett posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Cruz Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Mountain Vista now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Chaparral, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Chaparral hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Mountain Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Chaparral couldn't quite get it done against Mountain Vista when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 7-3. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
