Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cook walked away with it. They never let the Pierce County Bears get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Cook has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pierce County, their loss dropped their record down to 32-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bears beat Cook by a score of 4-3 later that day.
