Andrew Lewis of Linden ran for the longest rushing play in Mother Lode this season against Bret Harte last week. Lewis ran for 92 yards on the play and finished with 175 on the day as his team beat the Bullfrogs.
Argonaut extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Calaveras, 35-14. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Bret Harte's dynamic duo of Chad Testa and Connor Zumbach proved tough for Linden to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Testa threw for 98 yards and one touchdown and Zumbach had 47 yards receiving. Jake Piel helped Bret Harte's passing attack out by catching two balls for 19 yards.
On the ground, Summerville's Tanner Krieg has rushed for 1100 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Dalton Day. The Summerville star has 24 catches for 405 yards.
One of Mother Lode's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Redskins and Scott Edwards' team face off next week. Zack Johnson has thrown for 1220 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Luke Brewer has plagued opposing QBs to the tune of four sacks.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Amador takes on Argonaut. As it stands, the Buffaloes are in fourth, while Rick Davis' team is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Amador takes on the Mustangs. Bill Baker's team has allowed 85 points this season, while Argonaut has given up 75. The Buffaloes allowed 8 points last week as they lost to the Bears.
The Mustangs moved up to 151 from 207 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Argonaut climbed the ranks as a result of topping Calaveras 35-14.
