The South Summit Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Juab Wasps at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Summit knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Juab likes a good challenge.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times South Summit and Ben Lomond have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Scots a 13-0 shutout. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Scots recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Ammon Marchant and Brody Larson did most of the damage at the plate: Marchant went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Larson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That double was Larson's first of the season. Ian Mair was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
South Summit hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ben Lomond struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Juab sidestepped Madison for a 9-8 win.
Connor Park looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Peterson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Trevin Park, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
South Summit's record is now 3-7. As for Juab, their record now sits at 3-8.
South Summit might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Juab when the teams last played back in May of 2021. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
