Arendell Parrott Academy's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Tanner Outlaw and Brooks Grady, who racked up four sacks between them. Grady has been hot for a while, having also posted six or more total tackles the last 14 times he's played. Brody Kuszyk was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
John Paul II Catholic played against Life Christian Academy last Friday and won via forfeit.
John Paul II Catholic's win came from a few key players Arendell Parrott Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Crisean Williams, who rushed for 100 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making three total tackles. Another player making a difference was Gentry McMinn, who rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.
Arendell Parrott Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for John Paul II Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Arendell Parrott Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 177.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like John Paul II Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 300.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
