The Lewisburg Baptist Academy Lions on the road again on Tuesday and play against the New Life Christian Academy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Lewisburg Baptist Academy is ranked 93rd, while New Life Christian Academy is ranked 105th).
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Lewisburg Baptist Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past Elk Valley Christian 53-51. The win was just what Lewisburg Baptist Academy needed coming off of a 78-55 loss in their prior contest.
Dylan Wykle and Austin Beane were among the main playmakers for Lewisburg Baptist Academy as the former scored 17 points and the latter scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elijah Brookman, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds.
New Life Christian Academy posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Beth Haven Christian 75-30 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-13.
Lewisburg Baptist Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for New Life Christian Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-3.
Lewisburg Baptist Academy beat New Life Christian Academy 75-64 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lewisburg Baptist Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
