Basketball Recap: North Montgomery Starts Season with Victory on the Road

North Montgomery had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over the Fountain Central Mustangs. The Chargin' Chargers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

North Montgomery can attribute much of their success to Talyn Sheldon, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jack Warren, who had seven points and six boards.

Fountain Central's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was ELI FOXWORTHY, who went 9-for-18 en route to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. AYDEN BATCHELOR was another key player, shooting 56% from the field on his way to 12 points.

North Montgomery and Fountain Central will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Chargin' Chargers see the court they'll take on Southmont at 7:30 p.m. on the 5th. As for Fountain Central, their break will end when they face Clinton Central at 7:30 p.m. on the 5th.
