The Dwight Trojans lost against the Roanoke-Benson Rockets back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Dwight ended up on the wrong side of a rough 51-30 walloping at the hands of Roanoke-Benson. Dwight has not had much luck with Roanoke-Benson recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makayla Chamber, who scored 10 points. Chamber scored a full 33.3% of Dwight's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Njomza Asllani was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Dwight has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Roanoke-Benson, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Dwight will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Bede at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully St. Bede focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Monday. As for Roanoke-Benson, they will head out on the road to face off against Putnam County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Putnam County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Roanoke-Benson in Illinois (Putnam County is ranked 110th, while Roanoke-Benson is ranked 458th).
