The Eupora Eagles will take on the Kemper County Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Eupora took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed past J.Z. George to the tune of 38-6. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.

Peyton Perkins
| 10/10/25 vs J.Z. George | 326 |
| 10/03/25 @ Velma Jackson | 196 |
| 09/26/25 vs Noxapater | 101 |
| 09/18/25 @ Water Valley | 293 |
| 09/12/25 @ Ethel | 156 |
Peyton Perkins was his usual excellent self, rushing for 326 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 20.4 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Kemper County didn't have too much trouble with Velma Jackson on Friday as they won 34-16.
Eupora better focus on containing Damarius Yates and Gabriel Murray as the pair were huge in Kemper County's win. Yates rushed for 219 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries, while Murray rushed for 156 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries. Murray has become a key player for Kemper County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise.
Kemper County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 437 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 198 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.
Eupora pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for Kemper County, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Eupora has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 257.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Kemper County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 242.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Eupora might still be hurting after the 42-20 defeat they got from Kemper County in their previous meeting back in September of 2020. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
