Basketball Recap: Gulliver Prep Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Gulliver Prep had lost four straight headed into Wednesday's contest, but Nico Leal didn't let it get to five. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 68-45 margin over the Cushman Cougars on Wednesday thanks in part to Leal, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 17 points and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Dennis Obsaint, who posted ten points and five rebounds. He also posted two assists, marking his first of the season.

Despite the loss, Cushman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cody Gechtman went 8-for-11 on his way to 18 points. Jamie Boland was another key player, putting up nine points.

Gulliver Prep's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Cushman, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Gulliver Prep has already played their next matchup, a 64-31 loss against NSU University on the 4th. As for Cushman, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-44 win against North Miami Beach on the 6th.
