Parkside found their leader in underclassman Daiquan Smith, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Smith scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliajh Butts, who scored 12 points.
Parkside's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Thurgood Marshall Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Parkside will head out on the road to square off against St. Albans at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
