Buena Vista struggled with assists on Saturday (Lincoln North Star had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Buena Vista had to suffer through a rough 72-22 loss at the hands of Lincoln North Star. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Buena Vista has scored all season.
Mogtaba Mohamed was Buena Vista's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Ben Harris held things down on the boards with six rebounds. He took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Millard West's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a hard 81-65 fall against Gretna. While losing is never fun, Millard West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Gretna is ranked 32nd).
Reece Carson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 17 points. The game was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Fortune, who scored ten points.
Buena Vista's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Millard West, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Friday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Buena Vista have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 30.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Millard West struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 24.8 rebounds per game.
