The Valley Center Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Pacific Ridge Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacific Ridge took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley Center, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Valley Center beat Granite Hills 64-52.
Valley Center's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kevin Garcia, who scored 20 points along with 8 assists and 8 rebounds, and Carson Yoder, who scored 24 points. The matchup was Yoder's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Zetmeir, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Pacific Ridge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 52-31 loss at the hands of Bishop's.
Christian's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Valley Center's loss dropped theirs to 4-3.
Valley Center skirted past Pacific Ridge 54-52 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pacific Ridge's Evan Sauer, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Valley Center to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
