The Millbrook Wildcats will take on the Riverwood Raiders in a holiday battle at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at. Millbrook has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 459 points over their last seven games.
Millbrook pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of New Hanover by a score of 64-61.
Millbrook's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Colt Langdon, who scored 24 points, and Alex Olander who scored 18 points. Langdon scored a full 39.3% of Millbrook's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Riverwood fought the good fight in their overtime contest against St. Pius X Catholic on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Lions by a score of 90-87. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (57), Riverwood still had to take the loss.
Millbrook now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Riverwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.
